One of the biggest questions asked is what does it do and do I have to shift. The auto clutch engages your manual clutch when your engine rpms increase and releases back at idle. You still have engine braking down to idle and when taking off when done normally, it even sounds like are letting out the clutch. You can still use the manual clutch lever but with zero pull at idle and 1 finger pull up to about half the engine rpm. You have more holding power with the EFM auto clutch than any other type on the market. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th gear burnouts can be done with ease. You still have to shift, you can use the manual clutch to shift, or just relax the throttle to up shift, and blip to down shift.
THERE IS NO DISADVANTAGE TO THE EFM AUTO CLUTCH!
There is no worry about stalling in traffic, holding in the clutch lever while sitting for a traffic light. A must for jockey shift bikes. If you are a experienced rider than take advantage of the way you can accelerate from a green light. If you are a new rider, you will ride the the confident of just being able to twist the throttle and go even if your on a hill, or just turning around in a tight area. The harder you twist the throttle, the harder the clutch will lock up. Great for trikes and disabled riders.

All auto clutches come with a relay(to keep bike from starting in gear) and all necessary fiber and or steels(plates) for adjustment.
The BDL 3" is a drop in clutch, supplied you with instructions, relay so it wont start in gear, extra steels and a fiber.
primos customer has to do some drilling on the basket.
EFM offer's setting any clutch up for free if you send it to them, just pay the shipping to them and back, if we are drilling the basket(primo), mounting the clutch is free
auto clutches are avaiable for most any type of belt drive, just most of them require drilling an tapping the basket.

Our original 6-into-4 transmission is a direct replacement for the 1970-Early 1984 4-speed. Recently we have added mainshaft options that allow fitment into belt drive models that require a longer mainshaft and shorter ones for Pan and Knuckle. Available with or without the time-honored 1936-84 style kicker. In a 4-speed, 4th gear is 1:1. Our Shovelhead 6-speed overdrive has a 1:1 5th gear and a .86 6th; good for a 500 RPM drop at highway cruising speeds. The BAKER 6 in 4 transmissions are offered for 3 fitment applications:
36 - 64 for Knuckles and Pans with tin type primaries and stock style clutch.
70 - E84 for Shovels with aluminum primaries and chain or belt primary drive and chain or belt secondary drive and factory dry clutch. (The "dry" type clutch can be identified by a steel clutch basket and a flat backed steel clutch hub with studs). This includes 80 - 81 Sturgis models with factory primary and secondary belt drive.
L84 - 86 for Shovel and Evo models with aluminum primaries and chain drive primary and chain or belt secondary drive and factory wet clutch. (The "wet" clutch can be identified by an aluminum clutch hub and clutch basket and diaphragm style clutch spring). These transmissions are designed for use with the factory style clutch hub, as clearance is very close. If other style belts are used, BAKER cannot guarantee fitment and modifications may be necessary. Tech Products offers belt drives designed specifically for 6 in 4 usage.

Every transmission features a forged aluminum trap door to withstand the performance demands of high-output motors, and gears made from 8620H chromemoly steel with precision-ground teeth and back-cut gear dogs for smooth and accurate engagement. Quieter operation is achieved with mainshafts and countershafts that feature major-diameter fit-splines, and the shift forks are investment cast for strength and durability. In addition to these ground-breaking innovations, a CNC-machined, radially-uniform shift cam is used for smooth, precise gear shifting and a shift lever throw that is same in every gear. 6 speed Right Side Drive Transmissions
The Right Side Drive transmissions were developed for wide size tire (250 series) and are best suited for high performance engines. Hydraulic and clutch type side cover. Specially designed cam for smooth shifting with bronze shifting fork.
The Right Side Drive (RSD) transmission, when mounted in a custom RSD frame will allow the use of a super wide rear tire without offsetting the engine. Available in your choice of a 5 or 6 speed with an "as cast" or polished case. Transmissions include a chrome plated top cover, shift rod lever and hydraulic clutch actuator cover. The hydraulic clutch actuator is designed to be used with a 11/16" bore master cylinder and requires a 10mm banjo bolt. The 5 speed version includes standard ratio gears and the 6 speed includes standard ratio gears with a 86:1 ratio 6th gear. For maximum strength all gear are the same width as OEM gears. The 32 tooth pulley will accept a 1 1/2" wide drive belt. The splined main shaft is designed for a 1990/Later style clutch hub. A neutral switch and speedometer sensor block off plate are included. Smooth shifting is accomplished by bronze shift forks and a roller type shift drum detent arm. Includes a Manufacturer's Warranty and Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO).

If you are changing the transmission pulley, rear wheel pulley, rear tire or installing one of our transmissions, you will need a recal box. You can dial it in dead-nuts after you install it in-line to your existing wiring harness. Not required for Sportster and Buell if you re-use the existing 5th gear.

Following Baker's reputation for a strong, quality innovation; this wet primary has strength in a billet forged design, and can be customized in finishes such as black anodized, raw, chrome or polished. It's sleek design features a "glory hole" on the side, giving the primary a unique belt drive look, yet retaining all of the advantages of a wet primary system. It also comes with the option of using a stock clutch, or upgrading to the new BAKER King Kong Klutch, with twenty massive clutch plates ready to take on your larger motor!
Options:
By eliminating the conventional serrated bracket for chain adjustment and going to a jack-type system under the shoe, the open belt look was achieved with the patent pending hole in the middle. Access cover on top rung allows chain slack feel during adjustment. Special jackshaft was developed to achieve that clean look around the starter nose. Fluid fi ll is 12-14 ozs (to bottom of clutch) which is proof of the compact size of the FFP. Less fluid = less power loss. The primary drive housing is the most recognizable piece of architecture on American motorcycles. It is centrally located and transfers power from the engine to the transmission.
We sculpted our new billet 6061-T6 FFP to enhance the natural mechanical beauty of the elements inside. A SolidWorks 3D model of the clutch, chain, starter pinion, and motor sprocket was created and thenwe sparingly started adding material to wrap around those elements. No extra aluminum or cellulite, just mechanical beauty. And there’s a glory hole in the middle shaved clean to show we practice good hygiene. FFP fi ts all Softail models, Evo and TwinCam without modifi cation. Compatible with stock 66 tooth clutch, compensating sprocket, chain, and starter motors. Each primary kit includes an inner primary housing, outer primary cover, special starter jackshaft, chain adjustment shoe and mechanism, gaskets, and fasteners.
For performance junkies with mountain motors, the FFP has an optional internal outside bearing support (FFPS). Applications above 150 ft-lbs require the outside clutch support to keep the transmission mainshaft from fl exing. The outside bearing support version is the fi rst enclosed,wet primary available. Belt drives have been available for years with outside supports. Our new KKK clutch is required with outside support spider.

For the past 3 years, we've been getting smart on clutches. We know all the
formulas now. The formulas we gathered say the following. Torque capacity
of a clutch is dictated by the diameter and the number of clutch plates. So the
goal was to find the biggest diameter clutch plates that would fit underneath
the starter ring gear minor diameter. We found the biggest ones in a Cadillac
5-speed automatic tranny so we designed a clutch around 20 of these
