Unique Design, Top Quality Materials and Construction The K&P Engineering filter element is made from medical grade, type 304 stainless steel micronic filter cloth to provide unmatched protection against oil contamination and resultant engine damage. A one inch square of this material flows an incredible 1.9 gallons of oil per minute at only 1 PSI pump pressure. The adhesive used in the filter assembly process is good to 600 degrees Fahrenheit, far above normal engine operating temperatures. A super strength nickel-plated neodymium rare earth magnet is installed in the top of the element for magnetic pre-filtering of the oil. The sophisticated bypass is engineered for proper differential pressures and consistent operation, delivering a greater percentage of filtered oil while being very easy to clean. The twist lock design assures positive filter element placement and allows for easy disassembly, inspection and cleaning. The quad-ring gasket doubles the seal between the filter and the engine. Finally, the filter housing is carved out of a solid chunk of 6061T6 billet aluminum, which not only looks trick but aids in dissipating heat(MODELS WITH HOUSINGS ONLY)

A super strength nickel-plated neodymium rare earth magnet is installed in the top of the element for magnetic pre-filtering of the oil. The sophisticated bypass is engineered for proper differential pressures and consistent operation, delivering a greater percentage of filtered oil while being very easy to clean. The twist lock design assures positive filter element placement and allows for easy disassembly, inspection and cleaning. The quad-ring gasket doubles the seal between the filter and the engine. Finally, the filter housing is carved out of a solid chunk of 6061T6 billet aluminum, which not only looks trick but aids in dissipating heat.

The billet aluminium casing is CNC-milled and therefore of the highest quality. The surface is brushed and anodised either in black or natural silver. Alternatively, it can also be ordered in a high-gloss polished finish. The casing is completely backfilled and the electronics assembly is therefore protected against weather influences, water, dust, and vibrations.

Display and Functions

The new dot-matrix of 251 ultra-bright LEDs provides a graphic indication of the engine speed by means of a freely scalable, horizontal LED band. All other indications are shown as numerical values. Of course, the engine speed can also be called up on the display as a numerical value in real time.

In order to provide optimal readability in darkness, daylight and twilight, the intensity of LED illumination is adapted automatically. The basic setting can be set to default for day and night in the set-up menu. Furthermore, an individual threshold value can be set for the engine speed limit ('red area'). Alternatively, this function can be used to indicate optimal gear shift engine speeds (simulated gear shift light). In both cases all LEDs start flashing whenever the adjusted engine speed value is reached.

Among all these functions the motoscope mini boasts a chief attraction: the new display is not only able to show readings horizontally but also vertically ("vertical mode"). This means that the instrument can also be mounted either horizontally or vertically! Furthermore, in the "vertical mode" the engine speed LED band can be set to either the left or right of the top-down numerical indications. These features are unique in their field.

Operation

With the kit-enclosed menu push button - or the originally installed head-lamp-flash-switch - it is possible to alternate between different functions and modes. Short text indications of the selected functions permit simple programming and operation of the instrument. The menu push button is also used for entering specific vehicle data into the device's computer. Of course, all pre-adjustments and stored values remain stored when the power supply is switched off.

Installation

Two threaded bushings at the back of the motoscope mini mean that it can be mounted easily to every vehicle. It can be used as a detached instrument on the handlebar or fork bridge or as an integrated element in a fairing cockpit or instrument panel. For easy installation we offer suitable all-purpose holding brackets as well as solutions specific to particular brands and models.

Operational Safety

Electrical safety is just one of the motoscope mini's many positive features. A working voltage of 7 V is already sufficient in order to operate the device and operation is ensured up to 18 V. Should over-voltage occur, this is intercepted automatically before it harms electronics. The instrument is therefore over-voltage protected. Furthermore, the device features protection against reverse polarity.

Connection and Sensors

A high degree of operational safety, simple wiring and a detailed assembly and operating manual make connecting the motoscope mini possible for everybody, including users who do not have much confidence in regard to vehicle electricity. The speedometer sensor provided is very small (M5/25 mm) and made of stainless steel. The sensor complies with the highest standards (IP68) and has a 1.5 m long connection cable, which can used to attach it to the front or rear wheel.

The motoscope mini is compatible with a lot of original speedometer sensors supplied by the vehicle manufacturers, regardless of whether these are dry reed contacts or inductive proximity switches. In case you require one, a load resistor is enclosed in the scope of delivery. Where original sensors are used, the motoscope mini can simply be plugged and no further installation is required. The device features also an intelligent 'Teach Function', which makes it possible to calibrate the speedometer in a very simple way - especially at vehicles that have the speedometer sensor within the gear box or somewhere similar, as in the case of Buell or Harley-Davidson (TM) motorcycles.

Versions regarding Casing Color and Ignition Casings are available in black, and mirror polished.

When combining the motoscope mini with the genuine CDI ignitions (capacitor discharge ignitions) often found Enduros, Quads and two-stroke engine vehicles, it may be necessary to use an additional ignition signal transmitter.

The motosign mini

The motosign mini from motogadget is an indicator lamp panel that fits perfectly to the motoscope mini in terns of size and design. Of course, it can also be used as a stand-alone instrument.

The Casing

The billet aluminium casing is CNC-milled and therefore of the highest quality. Its surface is anodized either in black or natural aluminium (silver). It's also available in mirror polished. The casing is sealed and protects all electronic parts against weather, water and dust.

The LEDs

The inbuilt 5 super bright LEDs don't have any symbols. With 5 LEDs in 4 different colours the difference and the function is obvious. The colours of the 5 LEDs are red, yellow (2 pcs), blue and green. The lifetime of an LED is always superior to bulbs. Inbuilt resistors ensure that voltage is correctly adapted to the LEDs.

Installation

Due to its tiny dimensions and attractive design the motosign fits to almost all motorcycles. Fastening is easy and stable due to two tapped holes (M3) on the back side of the instrument. The Green Light "HP" uses a rare-earth magnet on an isolation base to point the direction of the magnet field.

Traffic signal sensors are essentially metal detectors buried in the road surface. These "inductive loop" sensors are easy to spot because they have a circular, square, or diamond-shaped saw cut in the pavement just before the intersection. There is a weak radio frequency field over the coil, and a large inductive mass disturbs that field. Loop detectors are meant to pick up the presence of large masses of metal - like cars and trucks - sitting still over the detector loop.

Most modern bikes don't have enough inductive material in their frames to trip the sensor, and what they have tends to be oriented vertically above the loop (making it harder to sense) so we get stuck.

The Green Light Trigger emits a wide and powerful magnetic field that when passed over a detector loop, disturbs the loop's field, simulating the arrival of a much larger vehicle. When the control computer sees that signal, it knows someone's there, and the biker gets a green light, just like everyone else.

All returns are subject to a 20-30% RESTOCKING FEE! No exceptions! All returns must be approved by DAB management and must have an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number. Any returns without RMA # will be refused and returned to the customer.

All orders for custom (made to order) parts, special order parts, including exhaust and specialty parts that have long delivery times 2-10 weeks or more, ARE FINAL AND CANNOT BE CANCELED. Any part that has a manufacturer’s defect will be returned to the manufacturer for replacement. The manufacturer has sole discretion in defect issues; we will do everything possible to expedite these return issues.

Any return issues must be brought to the attention of DAB within 72 hours of receiving the item.

All refunds will be made to the original purchaser and funds will be returned only in the method they were paid minus applicable fees/shipping charges.
